“18 dialogues with 2004”

The Athens Olympic Museum is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the return of the Olympic Games to Athens in 2004, by hosting a new Temporary Exhibition of Contemporary Art titled “18 Dialogues with 2004.” This exhibition features 18 artworks created by the renowned Greek artist Dimitris Koukos.

Dimitris Koukos' artworks, inspired by the Olympic Sports featured in the ATHENS 2004 Olympic Games program, are seamlessly incorporated into the Permanent Exhibition of the Athens Olympic Museum, engaging in a creative dialogue with various selected artifacts and exhibits within the Museum.

For this collection of artworks, Dimitris Koukos, drawing inspiration from the challenges faced by athletes, the principles of Olympism, and the accomplishments of Greek athletes at the Games, artistically represents a collection of sports featured in the ATHENS 2004 Games Program.

The Temporary Exhibition "18 dialogues with 2004," which is a part of the Museum's thematic series "From Athens 2004 to Paris 2024," is organized in partnership with the Civic-Non-Profit Company "ALLIANCE FOR GREECE” and is conducted under the auspices and the financial support of the Ministry of Culture.

Exhibition duration: until March 29, 2025.
